About Terlipressin

Terlipressin is a synthetic vasopressin analog that is a prodrug converted to lysine vasopressin. It has prolonged action and is used for bleeding esophageal varices and hepatorenal syndrome. Approved in many countries, FDA-approved in 2022 for hepatorenal syndrome.

Research Notes

FDA-approved in 2022 for hepatorenal syndrome (Terlivaz). Widely used internationally for variceal bleeding. More convenient than vasopressin due to longer half-life.
