About Pasireotide

Pasireotide (Signifor) is a synthetic cyclohexapeptide somatostatin analog with high affinity for four of five somatostatin receptor subtypes. FDA-approved for Cushings disease and acromegaly when other treatments fail. More potent than octreotide.

Research Notes

FDA-approved for Cushings disease (2012) and acromegaly (2014). More effective than octreotide for Cushings but higher diabetes risk requires careful monitoring.
